Your stickers which are proof of entry into the class on the day will be ready for you to collect at the registration tent on the morning of Keswick Scruffs. Programmes will also be available to buy at Podgy Paws, Keswick Boot Company and Vanilla in Market Square, Keswick.
A number of entries will be held back for those who wish to enter on the day. It is strictly on a first come first served basis. Registration opens at 10am. Cost of entry is £2 per class which is non-refundable.
All dogs to be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Any dog deemed to be out of control or of risk to others will be asked to leave the show ground.
Please be respectful of the show venue and always clear up after your dog.
Where classes are age-specific (e.g. Puppy, Veteran etc), the specified ranges must be adhered to.
Please do not bring bitches in season to the show.
Children must be kept under control and supervised by an adult at all times. Please ensure children don’t approach dogs without permission.
Before attempting to stroke any dog, always ask the owner’s permission, and respect their response. If the owner says it’s OK, approach the dog slowly and gently - avoid sudden, unexpected movements, and never run or ride bicycles/scooters/skateboards etc, or shout or scream in the vicinity of dogs.
Please make sure that no dog is brought to any show which has contracted or has been knowingly exposed to any infectious or contagious disease during the 21 days prior to the show, or is suffering from a condition which adversely affects its health or welfare.
DOGS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS:
Your dog is vulnerable and AT RISK if left in a vehicle in high temperatures and even on days considered as slightly warm. Please take care of your dog.
When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.
The show has been organised by a group of volunteers. It is (hopefully) the inaugural Fun Dog Show for Keswick. We hope all people and dogs have fun! We will welcome constructive feed back after the show and thank everyone for supporting the first Keswick Scruffs!
Keswick Town Council and the organisers of Scruffs would like to thank the following for their contribution in making Scruffs 2014 a reality: McKanes printers & The Keswick Reminder, Keswick Signs, Keswick Cricket Club & Matthew Airey,
PLEASE REMEMBER - DON’T LEAVE DOGS IN CARS ON WARM DAYS.
The main bus stop/station area in Keswick is next to Booths supermarket. From there walk towards Podgy Paws, right at the mini roundabout, then cross the road and go up Stanger Street to the end. Turn right and go over the metal foot bridge over the river into Fitz Park.
The following are some of the car parks which are handy for Fitz Park - Football Club in the Hospital Field (Crosthwaite Road, near the hospital), Pencil Museum (Southey Industrial Estate CA12 5NG), Rawnsley Centre (Main Street, CA12 5NP), Keswick Rugby Club. If parking at Pencil Museum, Rawnsley Centre or Rugby Club, walk towards town centre, turn first left onto Stanger Street, walk up to the top and turn right then cross the foot bridge over the river and into Fitz Park.
Fitz Park is in the centre of Keswick, near the Leisure Pool and the Keswick Country House Hotel. Parking on the road side next to the park is a disk area and restricted to 1 hour. Fitz Park is next to a river and there is an access point to the water where dogs can cool down if necessary.
